Season opening in Giżycko

The traditional opening of the new season took place on the 2nd of May. The celebrations, which began with opening of historical drawbridge on Łuczanski canal, gathered a few thousand people. Other events of the day included a boat parade along with competition for the best decorated boat. The winning boat was 'The Masurian Ugly One' (see the picture below).
